Looking for an easy, warm and vibrant drink to get your Thanksgiving dinner started on the right foot? I highly recommend this refreshingly tasty Warm Winter Vino. It’s not an overly strong drink and is subtle enough to compliment all of the wonderful Thanksgiving flavors on the table.
It takes under 10 minutes to put together, so no crock pot or a ton of standing over the stove involved. The lush red and amber tones incorporated in this beverage are not only beautiful to look at, the refreshing flavor of freshly sliced oranges paired with just a hint of cinnamon are simply wonderful. Hoping you enjoy this as much as we do in our family, happy Thanksgiving week to everyone!
-1 bottle of red Italian table wine
-2 oranges (1 orange freshly squeezed, the additional thinly sliced)
-1/4 cup Armagnac or Brandy
-3 tablespoons agave
-2 cinnamon sticks
-4 sprigs fresh rosemary for garnish
In a medium-sized saucepan, combine your wine, freshly squeezed orange juice, armagnac, cinnamon sticks and agave. Turn to low heat and using a whisk give your liquid a few stirs until the agave has melted. Add your orange slices and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Serve in heat safe glasses and garnish with a fresh sprig of rosemary, cheers!
